Monthly Collection 1 - Storage

with 8 comments

Proudly do we present our first collaborative collection of photographs based on the common theme “Storage”.

  • space or a place for storing
  • an amount stored
  • memory
  • the act of storing: state of being stored; especially the safekeeping of goods in a depository (as a warehouse)
  • the price charged for keeping goods in a storehouse
  • the production by means of electric energy of chemical reactions that when allowed to reverse themselves generate electricity again without serious loss

Sharing our photography

with 6 comments

What could happen if some people across the World meet each other at forums, a photo sharing site and through blogging? There is a connection, a bond so to speak, based on our shared love for photography, the medium, the gear, and most importantly the inspirational process of learning, improving, and getting to know each other.

So here we are, three photographers with different backgrounds, different perceptions of the World around us, different influences, and different styles of photography. Last winter we got the idea to start a collaborative photoblog with the intention to make and post photographs based on themes or ideas. Why? To challenge ourselves, broaden our views, have fun and learn from each other. To get out of our comfort zone and think outside the box.

But, before we start off it seems appropriate to shortly introduce the three starting members of Sharedphotography.

Erik Ahrend
Even though I was born in 1971 I did´nt quite “see the light” until very recently. Having been a touristic guide for some years, It used to amaze me the amount of time people spent behind their cameras, framing and composing instead of living the moment with their loved ones. I used to believe that the best pictures were the ones framed by my retina and stored somewhere in my cortex, I hated photography and cameras… Some years later, when involved in the video industry, I was “forced” to buy a still camera to document a project. What is the expression I am looking for.? Oh, yes! I was bit by the bug (sound familiar?). The rest is history

Ronald Bunnik
Ronald Bunnik, saw the light in 1967. I Started taking pictures when I started travelling and taking snapshots. Nowadays I try to invest more in the ‘ seeing’ . I like to see more emotion in (my) pictures and have to explore that path still. I prefer nature and simple things in life. I am torn between color and black and white and try to use photography as a tool to see the world differently. I look around more now to search for that beauty all around us.

Wouter Brandsma
Wouter Brandsma, born 1973, and living in the Netherlands. I grew up with photography in the family. Both my grandfather and great grandfather were professional photographers and I started photography at the age of 8. In the last few years I started to share my photographs on flickr, and my personal photography related blog. Although I originally started with color film, and color slides, I moved on to black and white photography with a preferences for rural and landscape photography. I still try to understand what I am doing and what I already have done.

We hope you enjoy our site and feel inspired to share your thoughts and ideas with us. Feel free to comment or leave a message.
